Kindergarten Transportation Week!
Last week, our students explored the exciting world of transportation while bringing our science standards to life! We learned about pushes, pulls, force, and motion through hands-on activities and real-life scenarios. Our students had so much fun learning that science is all around us! 🚗✈️⛵

📚 3rd Grade Readers in Action!
Mrs. Villanueva’s class tackled character traits today, digging into character motivations and bringing the story to life through student-led discussion. We love seeing these young minds turn pages and spark big conversations! Keep up the amazing work, 3rd grade!

Our students didn't just see amazing tricks—they learned four big keys to success:
🧠 Be teachable
🎯 Stay focused
💪 Never quit
🤝 Lead with kindness
Huge thanks for an inspiring day! 🌟

This week, Ms. Ledford hosted an after-hours session for parents to dive into the gifted curriculum, ask questions, and receive a crash course in their student's reports. We love working alongside our amazing SES families to support our students! 📚✨

Playtime = learning time in Ms. Jeffcoat's Pre-K class! Whether they are building towers in the block center or baking pretend treats in dramatic play, our students are secretly mastering math, boosting their vocabulary, and learning how to cooperate with friends. 🧠🎨Swipe through to see our future scientists, engineers, and authors hard at work! 📸➡️

Our mini Eagles spent this week mastering their own names through hands-on fun, learning to spot their classmates' names, and making new besties along the way! So proud of how quickly our flock is growing together. 💙💛

As our students settle into a new school year, we ask everyone in our community to take a few extra moments to help keep them safe as they travel to and from school.
Whether you’re driving through a neighborhood, approaching a school bus stop, or traveling near a school campus, please stay alert. Slow down, eliminate distractions, and watch carefully for students who may be walking, riding bicycles, or crossing the street.
For drivers:
• Stop for school buses when the stop arm is extended and the red lights are flashing.
• Obey posted school zone speed limits.
• Never pass a stopped school bus unless permitted by law.
• Stay alert for students at bus stops, crosswalks, and near roadways, especially during the busy morning and afternoon hours.
For parents and students:
• Arrive at bus stops a few minutes early and wait a safe distance from the roadway.
• Cross the street only when instructed by the bus driver, and always look left, right, and left again before crossing.
• Use designated crosswalks whenever possible and never cross behind a school bus.
• Stay aware of your surroundings by keeping phones and headphones put away while walking.
The start and end of the school day are some of the busiest times on our roads. A little extra patience and attention can help ensure every student arrives safely at school and returns home safely each day.
Thank you for doing your part to help keep our students safe.

If you were outside this afternoon in one of the neighborhoods that SES serves, you may have seen some familiar faces riding through on the bus! Staff toured the neighborhoods where our students live today. We were so very excited to see some of our students as we drove through. We cannot wait for the school year to begin and for the most important people in our building to return...our students!
