2nd grade celebrated students who reached their 2nd quarter AR reward yesterday by creating sweet treats. Student decorated Christmas trees made from sugar cones with icing and candy. We are so proud of these students for their hard work!

**Local Government Engagement: A Visit from Council Member Lisa James** Yesterday, St. Marys Council member Lisa James visited SES to enlighten students about the workings of local government. Mrs. James proved to be a wonderful and engaging speaker, captivating the audience with her insights into how decisions made at the local level affect all community members. The interactive session encouraged students to voice their thoughts and ideas for improving our community. With Mrs. James’ encouragement, they enthusiastically shared creative suggestions ranging from the installation of traffic lights for safety to the fun concept of trampoline parks for recreation. A heartfelt thank you goes out to Mrs. James for generously sharing her time and knowledge with our students. Her visit not only educated but also inspired the next generation to think critically about their roles in shaping the community they live in. We look forward to more engaging discussions like this in the future!

Celebrating Camden County Schools' 2024 CCRPI Success! 🎉 Exciting news! The 2024 College and Career Ready Performance Index (CCRPI) results are out, and Camden County Schools have once again demonstrated remarkable achievements! 📈 Key Highlights: Content Mastery: Consistency is key! Camden maintained steady scores across all grade bands compared to 2023. Elementary Excellence: Notable increases in Progress and Readiness components highlight the effectiveness of our strategies. Closing Gaps: While not including Math scores this year, this area sets a new baseline for future evaluations. State Comparisons: Camden schools shone brightly, outperforming state averages across most categories. School Achievements: Exceptional Content Mastery: 🎓 Scores above 90 at Kingsland, Mamie Lou Gross, Mary Lee Clark, and Woodbine Elementary. Last week, Sugarmill's 5th graders had an amazing experience at the FSCJ Theatre! 🎭 They explored theater concepts like stage directions, tone, and fluency while learning about the importance of theater etiquette. The students did an incredible job, showing respect, politeness, and excellent behavior throughout the trip. We are so proud of them! 🌟 They also discussed how to dress for different occasions and practiced visualizing how people act based on their traits. She works with small groups of students on foundational skills, takes the initiative to familiarize herself with lessons beforehand, and creates anchor charts to support the students.
