This year Winter Fest will be on Thursday, December 12th from 5:00pm-6:30pm. We are in need of vendors for this event. Veteran's Day
Friday, November 8 was National STEM Day. Students at Mamie Lou Gross were lucky to have visitors from SWFLANT (Strategic Weapons Facility, Atlantic) during STEM and Media classes. Students learned about jobs associated with STEM, the jobs at SWFLANT, and how to use science, technology, engineering, and mathematics in their everyday lives. Thank you to our visitors!

We will have our Harvest Hoedown Dance on Thursday, November 14th from 3:30-4:30pm. Admission for students will be $5. Permission slips will be sent home this week. All permission slips and money will be due by Tuesday, November 12th.

Parents of 5th-grade students can also purchase a yearbook ad to recognize their child's accomplishments. Congratulations to our current top readers. Our Accelerated Reader (AR) program challenges all students to read everyday and try to become the top reader for their grade level. These students earned an awesome "READ" poster that they also got to help design! The posters are proudly displayed in the halls of MLG!
