  Sugarmill Elementary will host the following events to build the capacity for strong parental involvement to support a partnership among the school, parents and the community to improve student academic achievement.
Title I Meetings

*Title I Stakeholder Meeting

Where: Sugarmill Elementary School

When: August 25, 2017 at 11:00 am

Who: All parents and community members are invited to attend.

Why: The purpose of the meeting is to develop the school's Title I / parent involvement plan and budget and compact, as well as complete the FY18 program evaluation.

Current plans/information will be available for evaluation will be available on the school's webpage. Parents will have the opportunity to provide input via meeting attendance or through a weblink on the webpage.

*Title I Annual Meeting

Where: Sugarmill Elementary School

When: September 8, 2017 at 2:30 pm

Who: All parents and community members are invited to attend.

Why: The purpose of the meeting is to adopt the school's Title I / parent involvement plans / budget and compact.

These items will be made available at the school, on the school's website and as requested.

*SES School Council Meetings
The SES School Council meets 4 times a year. Dates TBD.

*PTO Meetings
The SES PTO meets monthly (the first Wednesday of the month).

*SES Parent Information Night
Watch Wednesday folders for the date and time.

*Pre-K Parent Orientation
Thursday, August 17th at 5:00 pm

*Field Day
TBD in the Spring. Parents are invited to come in and help run stations.

*K-5th Parent-Teacher Team Meeting

*Volunteer Training
Wednesday 8/16 at 12:00 pm, 8/22 at 3:45 pm, 8/30 at 9:00 am, and 9/6 at 9:00 am.

Media Center Houses Parent Resource Materials

Parents are encouraged to visit our Media Center to take advantage of our Parent Resource Collection (PRC). The collection consists of a variety of books and educational activities aimed at aiding parents to help students develop a mastery of all grade level standards. The PRC is open from 8:30 - 3:30 pm Monday through Friday.

Title I Resources

Title I
Title I is a part of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, which provides federal funds through the Georgia Department of Education to local educational agencies (LEAs) and public schools with high numbers or percentages of poor children to help ensure that all children meet challenging State academic content and student academic achievement standards. 

The Parent Resource Center is located in the Media Center. Parents are encouraged to open a Media Account and check out materials from the Parent Resource Center and the Media Collection for use with their children. The media center is open from 7:35 am - 3:15 pm Monday through Friday.
