Camden County Schools Make-Up Plan for Hurricane Irma and Possible Future Closings

Camden County Schools were closed September 8 – 15, 2017 as a result of Hurricane Irma. After careful consideration by district and school-level administrators, the following make-up plan has been developed giving consideration to the importance of high student achievement, the local flexibility offered by our Strategic Waiver, and to minimize the negative impact on families:

• Students and staff will not make up four of the six days.

• All staff will document the remaining two days through timesheets after receiving supervisor approval. Student needs will be a priority during the approval process.

• Students will complete online or traditional 2-hour assignments for each class during a two week window - November 13-27. All assignments will be monitored and evaluated.

Future closings during the 2017-2018 school year will require staff to document time via timesheets and students will complete assignments in the manner described above.
